2020 COCA CAMPUS AWARDS WINNER

School Staff Member of the Year

Jordan Hallawell - Brock University
Jordan Hallawell is the Marketing master behind the Brock University Student Union. He has supported COCA by sharing his vast knowledge by presenting numerous Ed Sessions at COCA Nationals and Regionals. Last year, he was instrumental in assisting with the COCA Awards presentation plus the showcases at Brock. He is also on the Board of Directors of AMICCUS-C. His philosophy…know your students, market directly to them, and give them the student experience they want.

School Student Member of the Year - East

Gabrielle Bailey - Acadia University
Gabrielle Bailey is an incredibly engaged student at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.  She has held the position of VP of Events & Promotions for the Acadia Students’ Union for the past two years and strives to improve the student life experience at Acadia. Not only is Gab involved at her own campus, but she currently sits on the COCA board of directors, representing the east coast, all the while being a student.

School Student Member of the Year - Central

Twan Dieker - Wilfrid Laurier University
Twan is strong leader with a passion for programming & events. As the VP Programming & Services on the Waterloo campus, his role oversees 9 direct report committees (Orientation Week, The Activities Team, First Year Project, Shinerama, EcoHawks, Peer Connect, Foot Patrol, Food Bank and the Emergency Response Team). He also helps manage nearly 600 volunteers! Twan’s biggest portfolio is Orientation Week, including move in and all social and transitional programming for over 4,000 including students. Under Twan’s guidance our services have been thriving. With increased efficiency and marketing, our Food Band parcel usage has more than doubled. Twan has no doubt helped shape a more positive inclusive student life culture at Laurier and has had way too many wins this year to even count…not sure what we’re gonna do without him.
