Devin believes that combining programming, awareness campaigns and club activities help provide a well-rounded and diverse array of experiences and opportunities for the students of St. Clair as well as enhance the sense of student life on campus! Her eagerness to help students and dedication to executing fun and meaningful programming make her an asset to the SRC team.

Patrick Newell - Algonquin College
Patrick has been involved with the Algonquin Students’ Association for 5+ years.  He started his journey with the SA as the Club & Communities Coordinator and worked to become the Marketing Assistant and is now the Interim Manager of Marketing and Communications. School Student Member of the Year - East

Gabrielle Bailey - Acadia University
Gabrielle Bailey is an incredibly engaged student at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.  She has held the position of VP of Events & Promotions for the Acadia Students’ Union for the past two years and strives to improve the student life experience at Acadia. Not only is Gab involved at her own campus, but she currently sits on the COCA board of directors, representing the east coast, all the while being a student.

Bernard Besong - Mount Saint Vincent University
Bernard has been involved with the MSVUSU for the past two years. His current position as the VP Student life has kept him busy presenting strong programs to the students both in variety and diversity. Together, with the other four elected executives, they all work to ensure that all Mount students are provided with high quality Union services, student representation and student rights activism.

Natalie Doumkos - St. Francis Xavier University
Natalie oversees the students unions, planning and facilitation of all student-led events at university. Some of the more successful events this year included the annual X-Fest and X Ring, plus an amazing Frosh Week. She also coordinates events at The Golden X Inn alongside the bar manager and assists the Society Coordinator in the co-ordination of all campus societies. Natalie is also an accomplished artist, her main form of art is her photography, but she experiments with videography, sketching, and many types of painting including oil, watercolour, and acrylic.

Anthony Gatto - University of New Brunswick, Fredericton
Anthony’s dedication to student life is second to none and it has been a true pleasure to work with him all year.  His professionalism when faced with the difficulties of running events gave me confidence in his abilities.  It is my belief that the UNB Students were lucky to have him.

Mary Navas - Saint Mary's University
Mary Navas has been part of the SMUSA Exec team for 3 years.  Two as an amazing VP Internal where her message of diversity and inclusion in her programming brought the whole SMU community closer together.  Her upbeat demeanor and “can do” attitude reassured her team and others that everything was always under control even though as we all know in this industry; if you have had any experience in this industry at all, there are moments where things are teetering on the rails.  She is a true team leader who gives praise to others before herself and when she became president she was able to guide her successor through another successful O-week.

School Student Member of the Year - Central

Twan Dieker - Wilfrid Laurier University
Twan is strong leader with a passion for programming & events. As the VP Programming & Services on the Waterloo campus, his role oversees 9 direct report committees (Orientation Week, The Activities Team, First Year Project, Shinerama, EcoHawks, Peer Connect, Foot Patrol, Food Bank and the Emergency Response Team). He also helps manage nearly 600 volunteers! Twan’s biggest portfolio is Orientation Week, including move in and all social and transitional programming for over 4,000 including students. Under Twan’s guideddance our services have been thriving. With increased efficiency and marketing, our Food Band parcel usage has more than doubled. Twan has no doubt helped shape a more positive inclusive student life culture at Laurier and has had way too many wins this year to even count…not sure what we’re gonna do without him.

Davi Sihota - McMaster University
Davi is a health science student, and social media extraordinaire. Through her research and experimentation she has garnered over 3,000 new followers on the social media accounts she manages, all within 7 months of being on the job and with no prior experience. Her drive and creativity is inspiring.

Hiedi Striko - Brock University
Hiedi’s portfolio included overseeing events, clubs and student services. On our events side Heidi helped us deliver an incredible orientation week for our first-year students. In addition to our staple O-Week events including our Big Ticket Concert featuring A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Paint Party, Condom Poker & Dirty Bingo and much more. Heidi also help bring our first ever O-Week Carnival; an event we fully expect will become a Brock O-Week tradition. Heidi also helped us deliver several other awesome events including 12 Days of BUSU which saw our social media grow by over 3,000 followers during this initiative. Heidi has constantly advocated for the importance of student clubs, many of which go unnoticed. This year Heidi and the events team were able to surpass 100 student clubs at Brock University. With Heidi’s assistance BUSU clubs have successfully run close to 1000 risk-managed events this year.
