Accommodations

Accommodations

Based on feedback from our members and students on the cost of hotel accommodations we have partnered this year with the residences at Wilfrid Laurier University to provide a more economical choice.

While the residences will serve as our official accommodation partner should you wish to stay a hotel we also have secured event rates at the 2 closest Hotel properties (details below).

All rooms are basic “residence” style, Lockable bedroom with single bed, desk, chest of drawers, etc… and come with a basic pillow and bed linens. Totally nothing fancy but gets the job done and is way cheaper than conference hotels, saving you some student association funds you can use to plan killer events this year!

Your mom just called and wanted us to remind you that the residences are just a short walk to the Student Life Summit events, so plan to bring your flats along with any fancy shoes to save your blisters. You will be outside in Ontario spring so sometimes it rains, bring a jacket! Finally, this is residence baby! Bring your own toiletries, hair dryer, etc… (added benefit - save the planet from those little plastic bottles!)

Apartment style (260 Regina Street, Waterloo) – each bedroom has its own bathroom/shower, so that’s better than most residences! Each “apartment” contains five bedrooms, along with a kitchen and living room. Kitchen has fridge! So also nice, right?

Here’s the hook, because space is limited you must book at least 3 people to reserve a whole apartment for your delegates.  If you have less than 3, you can either team up with another school and make your reservation, and split the costs between you, or let us know you are open to sharing with another school. Again, everyone has their own bedroom and bathroom so lots of space to get ready in the morning. If you need rooms for more than 5 delegates, please fill in a reservation form (link below) for each apartment indicating the names of your delegates who will be staying in which apartment.  Another option is Dormitory style (200 King Street North, Waterloo - limited availability) – Private bedrooms with semi-private washrooms.  Shared lounges with a fridge and stove are available on each floor. There is no minimum number of rooms you need to book in here.
