Showcase Information

Showcase Descriptions

Please note that COCA reserves the right to combine showcase types or even eliminate a particular showcase from the schedule should there be an inadequate number of applicants.

All showcase spots are 20 minutes of performance. 

The following are brief descriptions of each of the showcase types:

Mainstage Showcase

Usually scheduled in the evening (after 8:00pm), involves entertainers of all types except lecture. Artists of all music genres and variety acts (hypnosis, juggling, acrobatics, spoken word, musical comedy, improv comedy, circus side shows, etc.) are all considered acts of a Mainstage Showcase.

Comedy Showcase

Standup comedy perrformance spots (these could include improv, etc.).

Lecture/Variety Showcase

The artist must tour as a lecturer or guest speaker, or be considered a variety act (hypnosis, juggling, acrobatics, spoken word, musical comedy, improv comedy, circus side shows, etc.)

Singer/Songwriter Showcase

These types of showcases provide opportunities for more intimate performances for a solo/duo - most often performed 'in the round' format.
